Week 5 NFL injuries: CJ Mosley doubtful to play, Aaron Rodgers has no injury designation

Week 5 of the NFL is here and Sunday starts early with the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets facing off in London. There are several incredible matchups this week, with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills set to bounce back against CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans, the Baltimore Ravens traveling to Cincinnati to take on Joe Burrow and the Bengals, and Matthew Stafford hosting an old rival in the Green Bay Packers.

Like every week, there are several notable injuries to take into account. The Indianapolis Colts have a banged-up quarterback and running back, New York Giants star Malik Nabers, already ruled out with a concussion, as is Texans running back Joe Mixon, who is still dealing with an ankle issue.

Below we’ll break down each NFL team’s final injury report.

Moses, the Jets’ right tackle, is not yet ready to return to the lineup due to his knee injury. He did not practice on Wednesday and Friday, but tried to start as a limited participant on Thursday. Mosley will miss another game due to his toe injury. He was limited in training all week. Aaron Rodgers was listed on the Jets’ injury report with a knee problem, but he was a full participant in practice and has no game title for Sunday.

The Vikings’ usual TE1 isn’t ready to make his debut in 2024. But he was a limited participant in practice on Friday.

It is doubtful Rankins will play after missing practice all week. While Hilton is questionable, he also missed the entire week. As for Murphy, he was a full participant in every practice session and was able to make his 2024 debut this Sunday.

The Panthers will be missing some key starters on defense against the Bears, as linebackers Jewell and Thompson have already been ruled out. Thompson will miss the remainder of the 2024 season due to his Achilles injury. It is doubtful that defensive tackle Tuttle will return to the field this week after being limited in practice due to his foot injury. The Panthers have quietly had one of the best offensive lines in the NFL this season, but it would be notable if Hunt was not in the lineup due to his hip injury.

Pickens and Smith didn’t practice all week, so it was no surprise they were ruled out. Carter and Jenkins, who are both dealing with rib injuries and are questionable to play, did not practice Wednesday but were limited Thursday and Friday.
