The wait for M4 generation Macs finally ends at the end of this month. According to Bloomberg, Apple will put a new portfolio of Macs with the M4 silicon on the shelves from November 1 at least.
Topping the list is the Mac Mini, which is said to be getting variants with M4 and M4 Pro processors. This one is going to be special, as previous reports from the same outlet have predicted a long-overdue design overhaul for the machine.
The upcoming Mac Mini will reportedly be “much smaller than its predecessor, approaching the size of an Apple TV set-top box.” Apple’s new entry-level desktop is said to be more compact, but slightly larger than the previous one.
While testing various hardware designs, Apple reportedly trialled a version with three USB Type-C ports, switching from the current M2 model with two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports and an equal number of USB Type-A ports.
The M4, in the iteration currently powering the 2024 iPad Pro pair, includes four performance cores and six efficiency cores, alongside a 10-core GPU. The Pro variant is expected to pack more CPU and GPU cores, if Apple’s history is to be believed.
In addition to the Mac Mini, we also expect what Bloomberg calls a “low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip.” This comes with significant upgrades to the top-tier 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
Unconfirmed but looks pretty legit: A Russian YouTube channel claims to have the yet-to-be-announced M4 MacBook Pro and has a full unboxing and hands-on look at it. We’ve seen prototypes leak early, but never a full Apple device weeks in advance. https://t.co/LYrt68ZmEn

Interestingly, a Russian YouTuber has shared a full unboxing and hands-on video showcasing the unannounced M4 MacBook Pro. The video gives us a glimpse of a familiar design, a 10-core CPU + 10-core GPU configuration for the M4 processor inside, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
Apple is also expected to launch a redesigned version of the iMac. We don’t expect any new dimensions, and the aesthetics will likely be familiar too, aside from the addition of fresh color options. But it appears that not all of the devices mentioned above will go on sale at the same time, as customers may be in for a phased market launch.
