Fans are furious after seeing what Illan Meslier did moments after making the ‘worst goalkeeping mistake of the season’.
Leeds United were destined to take all three points against Sunderland, until a moment of madness after falling from a goal behind.
Joel Piroe canceled out Chris Rigg’s goal before Junior Firpo gave his side the lead.
In the 97th minute, Alan Browne pounced on a loose ball and helped it into the penalty area via a deflection from Firpo.
Without any pressure, Meslier seemingly misjudged the bounce, conceding the ball deep into stoppage time.
Sunderland bizarrely took a point in the closing stages to stay top of the championship.
After the final whistle, Meslier and Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris shared a warm embrace after their time together at Lorient.
The French goalkeeper smiled and joked with Le Bris, which angered fans, including many Leeds supporters.
