A range of Apple-branded hardware will launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, and based on the company’s previous announcements, a slew of M4 Macs will arrive during this time. However, the latest report features a surprise newcomer in the form of an iPad mini 7, and what’s even more exciting is that a date has been given for when Apple is expected to make these revelations, namely November 1.
One of the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro models is already on sale before the official announcements begin
Like the M3 models, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman states in the latest ‘Power On’ newsletter that one of the M4 Macs will include a base 14-inch MacBook Pro codenamed J604, followed by high-end versions with the same 14-inch panel , along with a larger 16-inch screen. All variants will likely have mini-LED panels, while the more expensive portable Macs will be codenamed J614 and J616.
With the M4 Mac mini, Apple’s miniature computing powerhouse finally gets a new design and could be as small as an Apple TV, but packed with exceptionally capable hardware. Best of all, there will be a higher level option where buyers can configure the machine with an M4 Pro. In fact, all MacBook Pro options can hold up to an M4 Max.
We should be greeted by an iMac successor later this year, but it doesn’t look like Apple will be treating its ‘All In One’ to another chassis, but at least customers will be happy to know that this one will be equipped with its 3nm chipset. For those interested: this ‘desktop’ is codenamed ‘J623.’ Last but certainly not least, after a truckload of rumors, we finally get an iPad mini 7, with the compact slate codenamed J410.
Unfortunately, Gurman didn’t mention the specs, and since its predecessor, the iPad mini 6, came with an A15 Bionic, we’re actually split on which silicon the iPad mini 7 will be equipped with. Looking at the latest 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models, we’re inclined to believe that Apple will integrate the upcoming model with an M2, but let’s wait until the official announcements start so we can finally get the truth get to know.
For those who want to see what the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro or what the box looks like, it was previously reported that it had gone on sale on a private Facebook group, with an identical design to the M3 version.
